Waving Bye to 2024

A Year of Cybersecurity, GRC, FinCrimes and Personal Tales

As we wave goodbye to a year filled with phantom job positions, romantic pigs, and cybersecurity rabbit holes, let’s raise a toast 🍾to all the scams we didn’t fall for and all the passwords we (hopefully) didn’t reuse! Here’s to 2025 — may your authentication be strong, your firewalls be mighty, and your spam folder be empty. And remember, if a stranger offers you a million-dollar algorithm or a spotted kitten that seems too good to be true… well, you know the rest! πŸ˜‰

I’m thrilled that my articles have helped countless readers navigate the digital wilderness with wisdom and a smile. Here’s to another year of keeping the internet just a little bit safer, one story at a time! πŸš€πŸ”’

Your support can help protect someone’s grandmother from sending “bail money” to scammers. Your donation could save a family’s Christmas from gift card fraudsters. Every dollar helps create more stories that teach people to spot the “spotted kittens that weren’t” and avoid the “phantom positions” that cost real people their savings.

In 2024, we shared tales of digital deception and cyber survival. For 2025, let’s do more than just share stories — let’s empower more people to protect themselves. Your donation will help create resources, spread awareness, and maybe even prevent the next person from falling victim to the scams we write about.

Because every time someone learns to spot a scam before it’s too late, that’s a real victory. And those victories start with supporters like you.

Together, let’s make 2025 the year where fewer people say “So You’ve Been Scammed” and more people say “Not Today, Scammer!”

Will you join us in this mission?

Through phantom voices and midnight calls,
Through digital masquerade balls,
I’ve spun my tales of warning clear,
Of scams that vanish, frauds that appear.

From romantic pigs in autumn’s start,
To Christmas gifting tales that break the heart,
Each story shared a truth profound:
In cyberspace, danger lurks around.

Down rabbit holes of policy and risk,
Through audit trails both broad and brisk,
I’ve guided readers, day by day,
To keep the digital wolves at bay.

Some tales brought smiles — the lessons learned,
The Wi-Fi feng shui tales that turned,
While others spoke of deeper things:
The cost of clicks, the wounds fraud brings.

From Instagram resets gone awry,
To spotted kittens that made us sigh,
I’ve shown how scammers play their game,
And taught us all to spot their aim.

As this year’s stories come to close,
Like footprints left in digital snows,
These stories leave us wiser, more aware,
Of all the risks that lurk out there.

So here’s to twenty-twenty-four,
The tales I told, the truths I bore,
And to the readers who’ve learned to see
The power of digital security.

I’m open to writing for your site, contributing a guest post, or being interviewed for your content. If you’d ever like to collaborate on anything at all, don’t hesitate to reach out, I’d love to hear from you! For the price of a cup of coffee 🍡, you too can help support cybersecurity education for all. Be a winner in the fight against scammers, show your support, and drop me a line letting me know your thoughts or ideas about future posts you’d like to see.
